ROV Onshore Workshop Technician

We are looking for a full-time Onshore ROV Workshop Technician to join our busy Workshop team, based in our Aberdeen Base.

 

The Workshop Technician is primarily responsible for the servicing, repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement of various ROV systems, manipulator types, tooling equipment and workshop facilities, Key duties, and responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

 

 Maintain operational workshop facilities for the mobilisation, demobilisation, refurbishment, maintenance, and repair of ROV systems and tooling equipment in accordance with workshop procedures and under the direction of the Workshop Manager

 Ensure all ROV equipment is maintained and compliant with all technical and project requirements

 Manage and plan maintenance activities for ROV equipment

 Perform pre/post deployment checks and QC audits for ROV equipment, in line with ROVOP processes

 Use logical techniques to identify technical faults during maintenance and testing

 Ensure equipment repairs are carried out in a timely manner

 Compile and maintain technical records, reports and logs using the ROVOP IMS

 Ensure all inventory levels align with recommended requirements

 Liaise with the Projects Team to prepare for future operational requirements and assist in project field mobilisations

 Liaise with the Technical and Asset Team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of ROV equipment

 Work closely with the Logistics Team to assist with the transport of equipment to/from projects

 Supervision of ROV Pilot Trainees aligned to the ROVOP Trainee Programme, offshore personnel and any third parties

 Operation of forklift truck and gantry crane

 Assist with workshop deliveries and driving duties

 Provide cover/support where necessary for other members of the workshop team.

 

About You

For this position, it would be optimal that you have previous working knowledge of ROV systems and their capabilities, as well as previous exposure to “service company” culture. Ideally, candidates would have previous experience in a similar role, or be time served in an electrical, mechanical or hydraulic background.
